Snow Removal Across Barrie, Innisfil, Springwater and Oro-Medonte

Where the Tractor Routes Run

We run snow removal in Barrie and the townships that touch it on tractor routes, for homes and small commercial sites. This page is for homeowners checking whether we take their street and how the routes work. Each tractor stays in one part of the map all winter, which is why we can be at every driveway on its list within hours of 5 cm, and why a route closes once it is full.

South Barrie: Painswick, Holly, Ardagh Bluffs, Hewitt's and Salem

The south end is where Barrie has grown since the 2010 annexation of former Innisfil land, with the Hewitt's and Salem secondary plans approved in 2016 and homes going up since. The Ward 10 councillor has said what residents already know: newer subdivisions have tighter roads and fewer places to put snow. On those streets the quote visit settles where the blower throws, and the windrow return matters more because the city plow has less room to work.

East Barrie: East Bayfield, Cundles East, Eastview and Little Lake

Streets off Bayfield, Cundles and Grove mix older driveways with newer infill, and the sloped driveways near the shore ice up on thaw-freeze days. Walkway clearing and salting are the common add-ons here.

North and West Barrie: Ferndale, Letitia Heights, Sunnidale, Edgehill and Cundles West

The northwest sits on the high ground toward Midhurst, on the Georgian Bay side of the city that the squall bands reach first. Routes here run with one tractor to a subdivision, and corner lots on the collector roads get the windrow on two sides.

Allandale, the Waterfront and Downtown

Older streets with narrow driveways, mature trees and the Allandale Waterfront GO station at the bottom of the hill. Downtown owners on the streets listed in Snow Clearing (Downtown) By-law 2008-212 must have the sidewalk clear by 10 am every day, and those frontages go first on the morning route. Commercial lots along Dunlop and Bayfield are quoted from a fall site walk.

Innisfil: Alcona, Stroud, Sandy Cove and Big Bay Point

Innisfil sits right against Barrie's south boundary, its 2021 census count of 43,326 people grew 18.5 percent in five years, and more than nine homes in ten there are detached, which means a driveway at almost every address. Alcona and Stroud are on the same routes as south Barrie; Sandy Cove, Lefroy and Big Bay Point are taken when a tractor has room.

Springwater: Midhurst, Minesing, Anten Mills and Snow Valley

Long rural driveways and the ski-hill end of Snow Valley get the biggest squall totals in the service area. Rural driveways are quoted by length, and gravel surfaces get the raised cutting edge until the ground freezes.

Oro-Medonte and Essa: Shanty Bay, Oro Station, Angus and Thornton

Shanty Bay and Oro Station along the north shore are on the east Barrie routes. Angus and Thornton in Essa are taken on a separate route west along Highway 90, with Base Borden postings quoted the same way as any other address.
