Seasonal Snow Removal Contracts in Barrie, ON

A seasonal snow removal contract in Barrie is one price for every clearing from November 15 to April 1, with the trigger depth, the windrow return and the cancel terms written on the page you sign. It is for Barrie homeowners who want the driveway handled for the whole winter, including the record ones, without a per-visit bill after each squall. You get a place on a named route, stakes in before the first snow, and a log of every visit.

What the Contract Says

Trigger: 5 cm at your end of Barrie. Dates: November 15 to April 1, and we honour a 5 cm snowfall that lands within a day either side. Scope: the driveway, the windrow after the city plow, and the walkway and steps if you add that line.

Visits: as many as the trigger calls for, with a second pass on the same day when a squall keeps going. Cancel: 30 days' written notice from either side, with the unused part of the season refunded by the month. Payment: half on signing and half on January 15, or by the month.

Why a Cap Matters in a Snowbelt

Some Simcoe County contracts stop at 20 or 25 events, or at 200 cm. Barrie's long-term average is 223 cm a year, and the City reported 300 cm between November 1, 2025 and January 28, 2026, with two months of winter still to go. A capped contract in a winter like that turns into per-visit billing in February. Our contract has no event cap and no centimetre cap. The trade is that we take fewer driveways per tractor and the route stays inside one part of the city.

What Affects the Quote

Driveway size and surface set most of it, the same as on the driveway snow removal page. The walkway line, the municipal sidewalk on a corner lot, and salting are each quoted on their own so you can leave them off. A second property in Barrie or Innisfil on the same contract gets one invoice. We quote after a visit and send the contract the same day; routes close when the tractors are full, which in most years is before the first snow in November.

Seasonal Snow Contract FAQs

  • What if it snows before November 15 or after April 1?

A 5 cm snowfall within a day either side of the dates is covered. Beyond that, the November 2025 squalls showed Barrie can get 20 to 30 cm before the season starts, so we offer early and late clearings to contract homes at a per-visit rate quoted in the contract.

  • Is there a limit on visits?

No. The contract has no event cap and no centimetre cap. In a 300 cm winter you get every clearing the 5 cm trigger calls for.

  • Can I cancel if I move or go south for the winter?

Yes, with 30 days' written notice, and the unused months come back to you. Snowbird homes stay on the route if you want the house to look lived in while you are away.

  • Do I pay the whole season up front?

Half on signing and half on January 15, or by the month. We do not take the full season up front, which is the arrangement behind most of the no-show stories in Ontario.
